DJ Osofresh Bio
In the vibrant streets of Arlington, VA, my DJ journey began after my family's move from Iran in 1979, sparked by the rhythms of "Rapper's Delight" by The Sugar Hill Gang. My early years were marked by a deep involvement in breakdancing and graffiti art, leading to the formation of a B-Boy crew and performances at various high school events. My passion for music was further ignited by Frank Ski's "Breaker's Delight" radio show, which led me to become the go-to person for the latest music in local parties. Mentored by Juan Ortiz, aka DJ Boom, I honed my DJ skills and started making mixtapes, eventually breaking into the club scene. My big break came in 1993 with a second-place finish in a DJ competition at The Vault in DC, leading to regular gigs and collaborations with renowned promoters and artists. Over three decades, I've evolved from spinning records at local parties to becoming a celebrated figure in the club scene, opening for icons like KRS-One and members of Wu-Tang Clan, and fostering a special love for rooftop events. My journey, supported by close friends and marked by diverse musical experiences, reflects my enduring passion for Hip-Hop and the art of DJing.
